The Vintage Marketplace Was A Success!

It seems that all the excitement I had built up for the show, was for a good reason!

The Vintage Marketplace Show was a huge success!

I have to say it was the busiest show I've ever been a part of as a vender!

We had customers streaming in and out all three days, nonstop!

There was no down time,

you know where you are sitting and listening to the crickets chirp?

What a show!

We seen tons of blogging friends,

some that have blogs and some that just read blogs.

What a treat.

The show was fun over all!

Today was a glorious day!

The weather was a bit cool, but the sun was shining all day!

A great day for loading the truck.

I've been a bit worried about how I was gonna fit all the inventory into a 10x14 booth.

So, Craig put down some tape measures to mark out the booth,

and I went to town cramming it all in there.
No place to go but up!

I did it!

Of course I will have extra things on the truck in case we sell something.

It saves so much time when you get to a show if you know where things are going.

I know it's hard to tell anything about what it's gonna look like since there are so walls to stop the eye!

But I think when I get out all the smalls and some fluff stuff it will be fine.

I love this drafting table!

But it was missing it's top, just so happened we had an old top on hand.

It was exact size needed for the base!

Looks like it's always been on there.

Throw in a couple of bar stools and there you have it!

I am so excited about the show!

We load tomorrow and I'll be glad when that is all over.

Weather supposed to be good tomorrow,

hopefully I can get all the large items priced before Craig loads them.

Rebecca and Donna's Visit

As most of you already know last week Rebecca and Donna came to visit me!

We had a great time and it was a pleasure playing hostess!

Look at these two, they are cute as a button.

They are as lovely inside as they are out!

We had some very interesting conversations about life and the Lord.

After their visit I have done some soul searching and spent a few hours meditating!

Several bloggers choose a word to start off the new year with,

and I decided I would do the same.

My word for 2012 is: GROW

I intend to grow many things this year!

My faith.

My happiness.

My relationship with my husband.

My health.

My friendships.

My family ties.

My business.

My time. (Yes, I want to find more of it for me!)

The seed that Rebecca left with me!

To sum it all up,

I intend to GROW a better me!

I don't exactly how all this will take place,

but I have a whole year to work on it.

And I feel strong enough to depend on the Lord to send me what I need,

when I need it!

Let me start by saying I can't believe it's been 8 days since I posted!

I have been so busy I just don't know what to do with myself!

Working, working and more working!

And doing a little entertaining with Rebecca and Donna!
I'll be posting about our visit in the next post!

Yesterday I sat down for a couple of minutes before I went to work and turned on the TV.

I don't usually watch any kind of talk shows,

but when the TV came on, the show Anderson (Cooper) was on.

And he was talking to this lovely lady.

I realized it was Gloria Vanderbilt and it peaked my interest!

Then Anderson blew my mind when had called her mom!

Yes, Gloria Vanderbilt is Anderson Coopers mother!

Of course, I'm sure most of you already know this, but I'm a little slow!

Her story is inspiring and tragic at the same time!

She is a talented designer, writer (12 books) and a artist!

Anderson said when he was young they moved every 4 years.

But, during the four years she completely redecorated every 2 years!

Now she stays put but changes her apartment around every 3 months, even repainting!

I knew I liked this woman the moment I laid eyes on her!

Anderson went to her apartment with a video camera and shot some footage!

The moment he walked through the door what was the first thing he zoomed in on?

Wait for it....................!

A DOLL HEAD ON A STACK OF BOOKS!!

I just about fell out of my chair!

But, after all she is an artist!

This is one of her art boxes!

Love it!

I know most of you think I'm strange because I love doll heads and doll parts.

But what can I say!

I'm not the only one!

The only advise she ever gave her son was:

Follow your bliss!

She really is a remarkable woman!

With a New Year comes a new look for the shop!

I decided we better go out and find a few more things to add to our inventory.

And WOW! We hit the jackpot!

I didn't even think we were gonna get it all on the trailer.

Matter of fact there are things hanging off both sides of the trailer!

Hahahahaha!

And the inside of the van is full as well!

Thank you Lord!

You know, he always provides exactly what we need!

We got several carts, rolling stairs, a couple of cabinets,

a awesome 6ft. long table,

and some great chairs

you can't see those, they are buried in the back of the van!

I am so glad we picked today to shop!

The vignette in on the other side of the dining room across from the door server.

Staying with that sea side theme, this is what evolved!

That is a tea cup sponge on the statues head.

I love this set of books,

I couldn't bare to part with them!

This huge shell is one of my favorites!

I scored it at the Nashville flea market for $20!

It all comes together on this marble top table from France.

This is the table beside the couch in the living room.

I needed something for height, so I put the statue inside the large sponge!

Add a little coral, a sea fan, and shell to complete the look.

This cabinet has had many vignettes over the years.

I think this is my favorite so far.

This photo of the cabinet with closed doors it not very good,

the window reflections kept showing up.

This cabinet is handmade.

I love handmade furniture.

I always day dream about who made it,

and who they made it for!

Moon Rise

As I got home from work last night I was walking up the sidewalk and spotted this lovely moon rise just popping up over the silo! I ran in the house to get me camera, had to put the battery in and change to my 300mm zoom lens. By the time I got back out of the house the moon was up past the silo. I thought the image was lovely. Here are a few perspectives of what I saw.

I focused here on the trees near me and not the moon.

I changed positions so I could see the barn. Love this photo. Keep in mind this is at least a mile away from where I am standing. And it was dusk.

Each photo shows the moon on its slow decent.

As you can see I was moon stuck last night! I love playing with my camera, I need to do it more often! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, How Rusted Are Thy Branches!

I have a junk Christmas tree this year! Yeah!

And YES, it's a rusted piece of junk!

Not sure what in the heck this thing is,

but it has 5 rusted circles on it.

I think it's cool.

This is what it looked like when I found it at my grandfathers place.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It had a wooden piece in the center.

Craig took out the wood,

added an adjustable iron rod,

a base, and a star!

And there you have it,

my new old junk Christmas tree!

Sorry these pictures are so dark,

it has been raining all day.

I'll take some better pictures later!

And wouldn't you know it,

I just happened to have some lights,

still in the package,

that have brown wire! Yeah!

I don't know if I'm gonna put any decorations on it,

or just leave it plain!

A Little Shopping

Did a little shopping on Monday.

Found some pretty cute things!

2 jars, 2 ironstone mixing bowls, some organ pulls,

show form, soft bristle paint brush, pictures

and some prayers cards!

I've been looking for these prayer cards everywhere!

I finally found some!

I can't wait to make something out of these cards.

And this book is the bomb!

It is dated 1847!

It's not a Bible, but it is something religious, I think it is German.

The words on the pages are embossed.

It is all to pieces,

I don't know if I should take it apart and sell a few pages at a time or leave it together!

The font is lovely.

I love it!

A Sprinkle of Christmas

The shop is all decked out and ready for Christmas!

I made most of my ornaments since the shop was so late in the season opening.

Of course I had to buy a white tree, wreaths and garland.

It's not near as pretty as some of the shops I've seen on other blogs.

But I think it all turned out pretty good, very simple.

Christmas wouldn't be complete without some decorated sticks from Texas!

This are one of the ornaments I created!

I think it is an old ice cream spoon.

This is the smallest head vase I've ever seen.

It's only 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" wide.

She still has her original earring and necklace.

This is my shoe form tree!

I think it is very Anthro! Don't you?

Finding A Home Around The House

A few more of my favorite things are finding homes around the house.

During the big purge I'm only keeping things that I dearly, dearly love.

With a less cluttered look in mind, I got rid of all my butter pats!

Yes, I did!

Wow! It feels so good.

This vignette is inspired by this lovely Ma Premiere Commonion that I got from my dear friend in France.

It's dated June 1885 and has the most wonderful staining!

The berries are from my dear friend in Texas.

It seems like the French make things so lovely!

I love any kind of French document.

These pictures are so dark, it's been raining a cloudy, not good weather for picture taking!
I added a new piece of salvage over my windows in the living room.

I love this piece, it fits the windows perfectly.

Jon Jenkins, one of the owners of the Music Valley and Tailgate show, contacted me last week with some ideas for the show. He has decided to have a special section just for bloggers called The Vintage Market Place. Best part is, he's come up with a way for bloggers to do the show at a reasonable rate. He has recognized all the amazing talent that dominates the blogging world and wants YOU to be a part of the show. He also realized that most bloggers don't do shows for a living, but would like to be a part of the show circuit.

I am so excited about his proposal! If you are a blogger that sells old stuff and would like to do the show, listen up! If are willing to do some post about the show, put it on your side bar, or both, you can shave money off your booth rent. Yes! Can you believe this? I've been doing shows for 12 years and I've never had a show promoter offer a deal like this!

For each post that you do about the show, up to 20, you decrease your booth rent by $15! That could add up to $300. Also placing the show in your sidebar amounts to $75. So posting alone or posting 15 times and side bar placement could earn you the $300. TOP OUT IS AT $300. When is the last time anyone paid you to post?

A 10x14 booth goes for $645. With the discounts in place you could shave your booth rent down to $345! How great is that? Bigger booths are available.

Jon said he knows that most bloggers that aren't in the biz, but would like to do a show, operate on a much smaller budget. Jon really wants to bring some diversity to the show and what better way to do that but with Bloggers!

I really think Jon is on to something. We all know how powerful Blogger and Facebook is! If you have any interest at all, please contact me and I can e-mail you a contract and a brochure. I am also compiling a list of interested parties for pass along to Jon.

New Shelf Display

Got a shelf put up in the dining room.

I tried to keep it simple!

These are some of my favorite things!

And most of these things were very affordable.
The shelf was $35.

Not sure if I'll add anything else or not!

I'm loving the gray walls.

This head came from Big Lots years ago!

$24.99 was the price tag!

It's the only new thing in my house but I love him!

From a distance he looks like real stone.

Just got this had last weekend!

I like it displayed beside the head.

$27 for this cutie.

Bought this in Iowa on my first shopping trip there.

$12 for this beauty.

Small cream colored books were a trade from my sweet friend Karen!

What I've Been Up To This Week!

I have been a little nervous about what I was gonna sell for Christmas decor.

Since I got the building so late in the year there hasn't been enough time for me to order anything in.

So, I thought I would just whip up a few things.

Not gonna be much, but I'll do better next year.

I love the way these little trees turn out!

These are metal cones that had a nail on the end of them for poking in the ground to hold flowers.

I cut the nail off and covered them with stained fabric.

I only had 4 of these things, wish I had more.

I'm not sure if they make paper cones for sale or not!

You could decorate these little trees anyway you want!

I kept my decorations neutral!

Then I moved on to some ornaments.

I had tons of corks and tons of prisms, put them together, added a little seam binding, and there you have it!

Next, I am gonna work on some ornaments made from some tiny tin spoons I have!

I have 36 of these made for the tree.

I've got a long way to go, but I know I will get there.

Two of the shops near me are having their Christmas open house this weekend! YIKES!

Guess I'll be a little behind!

Working On Those Bare Walls!

Sarah worked for me Tuesday so I could start putting my house back together!
I am very tired of looking at bare walls!

When we did the floors I had to stop work on the house and start working on inventory for the Texas show. When we got home from Texas I had to get the shop up and running, then my son came home for 2 weeks!

I've had a few ideas for some salvage pieces that I've had for a while. I don't want to bring hoards of furniture back in the house, remember I've been going through that less is more stage. And I don't want the house to be decorated the same way it was before we put the floors down.

I used this door in my bedroom for a while as a head board, thought it would make a great server for the dining room. I had decided to take over the sunroom for the dining room.

The fact that all my rooms are long a narrow, I had to think up some ways to take up space without large pieces of furniture. I am loving how this turned out! With the addition of some of my favorite smalls, I think I will be set. I'm looking for a long dining table for this space but that might take a while.

More projects to come as I can find the time to get to them.

I have been so busy with the store thingy,

I haven't even had time to post Texas pictures.

Things have started to slow down a bit,

so I thought I would take the opportunity to share a few Marburger pictures.

We had a great show and

a great time hanging out with all our friends.

All Our Hard Work.....

has paid off in a big way!

The first Saturday we were open we were honored with a visit from

The New Victorian Ruralist!

The next Saturday was a huge festival for the whole town of Glendale,

and it was great!

We received a wonderful response from several people that visited the shop!

Open For Business

Wow!

This has been some more week for me!

We got home from Texas on Monday night.

Tuesday morning I was at the shop bright and early to finish the painting.

My dear daughters painted the whole shop while we were gone!

Can you believe that?

Only the front doors and some trim work need to be done!

Picture the place MINT green, with forest green carpet.

The girls didn't take any before pics, sorry!

But they did a great job painting!

First time in my life anyone has done anything so thoughtful and helpful for me!

Momma got some pay back!

This is the main room.

This room is 18ft. by 24 ft.

Pretty darn small.

The next two pictures are the back room, Sarah is taking this room.

Can't wait to show you some of her fun stuff!

And these next two pictures are of the vault!

It's really tiny and dark!

Gonna need a lot of lights.

I was a little worried I wouldn't have enough things to fill the shop

since we sold so much in Texas,

but I had held back a few things and scrounged around and found some more!

Got to the shop yesterday morning to put some finishing touches on the place.

Opened the door at 11 am. and with in a few minutes of opening had my first customers.

Right away they bought several things,

I said wait, wait let me snap a few photos!

These are all the photos I could get in a short time.

I will be decorating the vault this week!

Today is the first day I've had off in over a month,

I even laid down for a two hour nap this afternoon, and boy it felt good!

Best part was selling, selling, selling!

Of course thats the main reason we go, but the show is a working vacation for us.

Loading Days

Yes, I said loading days!

It takes us at least 2 days and sometimes 3 days to get completely loaded!

It's a lot of work!

Thought I would show you a few of the things we will be offering up at Marburger.

I love this locker, it turned out great didn't it Sharon?

A wonderful map chest!

And I love this cart,

Craig did an excellent job on the top!

This would make a great island for someones kitchen.

This cool lab table has brass feet.

This used to be an old gas stove, turned sofa table.

Cute little book shelf, stools and a great night stand.

This is my favorite! Designed by Craig himself.

The legs are two handles off old carts and the top frame was the bottom of a large tub.

I think he did a great job with this one!

I love it!

Assorted small end tables or coffee tables.

ALL ONE OF A KIND!

Name That Store Contest!

Ok folks!

I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a name for the shop!

I will be keeping Time Worn Interiors for our show name,

but would like something new and French for the shop name!

Yes, I will be selling some French things that I've collected here and there.

And I'm planning a trip to France next year

so I can hang out with one of my best friends there!

So, my idea is......to get some ideas from you all!

I've had many, many ideas, thanks Jackie,

but most of the time that name is being used my someone else.

The name I'm sorta thinking of right now.......

Dish Towels at Target!

Are you kidding me?

I just about had a heart attack when I seen these towels at TARGET!

They look like grain sacks, they even feel a little like a grain sack.

And the stencils are perfect!

Only $3.99 each!!

I bought 6, well that's all they had.

I love Target!

These towels were not with the rest of the towels,

they were in an isle by the main drag.

I am so excited!

We get possession the first of Oct.

I'm I crazy or what?

Open a shop when things seem to be a little off with the economy?

And opportunity came my way and I decided to jump on it!

The building was a Bank and it's very small,

but I think it will work fine for me and my daughter!

Sarah is going to be joining me in this adventure.

I've been pretty burned out with the shows for awhile now.

We've been keeping the roads hot for 11 years and I'm ready to put down some roots.

I can't wait to get the building and do some painting inside.

I love it!

Your gonna be seeing many,

I decided to downsize my space at the mall since I was opening my own shop!

I have a very small 5x10 space, but I think it turned out pretty cute!

What is it about that junk that make my heart jump?

I love this business, although it is very tough at times.

When I was trying to decide on the shop someone said to me,

"sell what you love and they will come".

I think this is very true!

I plan on having some dark wood, industrial and a few white things at the shop.

Meet The Girls

All dressed up in their finest for opening day of Marburger, Sept. 27th.

I love mannequins!

I've been selling them ever since we started our business way back when!

I love the way they look in a booth!

I'm really excited about the show.

We've been working our fingers to the bone.

God is so good to us!

It's amazing how you always get exactly what you need!

We were a little low on inventory, but I was very thankful for what we had,

I didn't even ask for more!

But.......guess what?

More is what we got!

Some amazing things have come our way in the last couple of days!

Oh, I almost forgot,

I'll be attending a luncheon at Rachel Ashwells ranch

Leaving the Nest

When I came out of the house this morning to work on junk,

I could hear a bird calling,

not sure what it was calling?

But, it didn't take me long to figure it out!

Not sure if this baby bird left the nest of it's own free will or fell out!

But it was perched on some twigs near a flower pot overgrown with grass.

Momma called and called but baby never made a sound.

I did NOT get close to baby bird, I have a 300mm zoom lenses.

I kept my eye on the baby bird all day long cause I didn't want my dogs to get it.

As the afternoon progressed the momma calls got louder and louder.

Went to check on baby and it was gone.

I searched and searched but couldn't figure out where baby bird went!

Hopefully it is somewhere safe and momma and baby bird will be reunited soon!

Yeah!

Floors are finally finished in the Kitchen/Sunroom area.

Now! If I can just keep Craig home long enough to get the baseboard laid,

well what baseboard I have! Home Depot has been out of it all week!

Figures! And I only need about 5 more pieces! Anyway!

Then we can get the behemoth cupboards put back into place

so I can get all the dishes, pots and pans and food put back up!

Right now all the cupboards are setting in the dinning room.

That's what happens when you have no built in cabinets!

I've never been sorry we removed all the cabinets to use free standing cupboards.

I am so happy with the flooring!

I love it!

Because of the low, low price I didn't get to choose the color.

But I couldn't be happier with the color!

And I am really digging the gray walls!

I may not like them this winter, but we will see!

I can always paint again next spring.

I plan on putting a long dinning table to span the sunroom area.

And only one piece of furniture in that room!

I only want open floor space.

Who knows what I will hang on the walls though.

I do miss the porch that was in the sunroom, but I was really tried of it!

And as for the strips!

I hate those!

But thats what comes along with mobile home living.

Actually, the strips were 4 ft. apart

and we added some so it they would look more deliberate.

I removed the strips in the living room myself years ago,

but I have problems with the cracks wanting to open up.

I'm sure there was a better way to do it

but I was single at the time and I just did the best I could!

I've had hard wood flooring laying in my sunroom for over a year now!

It's finally happening!

The flooring actually makes the gray seem a little lighter!

I can't wait to get all my white furniture in the room!

I think it's really gonna pop against those gray walls!

Dinner at the Beach?

I loved this booth at The New England Motel in Brimfield!

It belonged to our good friends Karen and Patrick, and their daughter Bonnie!

I think the name of their business is Back Porch Antiques!

Sometimes I'm not very good with names!

Anyway!

I loved, loved, loved this display that Karen did with the aqua table and brown transferware.

And of course the addition of star fish made it all just perfect!

I considered buying this table,

but you know me, not much in the color department!

Karen and Patrick always find the coolest stuff!

This display was fabulous, although my photo is not very good!

To much glare!

I love any displays that include natural elements.

ie: wasps nest, shells, coral, horns!

This adorable vignette was created at the back of their cargo trailer!

July Brimfield

Boy, its it great to be home!

Brimfield is always a turn and burn show for us!

So far to go and so little time!

But is was great to be back at Brimfield!

Glad to see old friends and even made some new ones!

All in all, the show was OK, but sad to say the crowds were way off!

Every time we do a show it's always a huge gamble.

But we came home with a refreshed outlook on the biz!

We've made some new decisions regarding the path our business will be taking

and I can't wait to share the news with you!

Brimfield Time

Lavender Love

I think it's my favorite fragrance!

Not many flowers in my yard,

but thank goodness I do have some lavender!

The large planter holding this is next to the side walk,

every time you walk by it you get a wonderful whiff of lavender!

Much Needed R & R!

We are going away to lake for some much needed R & R!

Funny, we've owned an RV for 10 years but never went camping for fun.

We always take our little home away from home to shows!

So, I'm pretty excited to know I don't have to work when we get there!

A Gazebo For Me!

Last fall in Texas I bought one of Brian's creations, of The Seed Box! After we took it apart to load it in the truck, I didn't think I would ever see it erected again! lol! We create several truck loads of furniture every year, but I rarely get anything done for myself! And there was the issue of what we were gonna set the structure on. We talk about putting in on the ground with some mulch, but that just didn't seem like a good idea.

Well, when we were cleaning up a couple of weeks ago we came across this metal frame! Luck would have it that it was the right width for the gazebo, just a little longer. I said no problem, we will move the structure to to the back of the frame and it will create a little front porch!

So Craig went right to work adding the proper support to the frame. Then we couldn't decide what kind of decking to put on. We discussed wood, then a sheet of metal got brought into the conversation! We both decided that metal would be cool!

I love the metal decking! Looks like it belongs with the frame!

This is the part that Brian made, to include 4 post and a top.

Loved the way it looked on the deck! Couldn't hardly wait to get it all put together!

The top is a part of a chicken brooder. Hope I spelled that right! We don't have those here in Kentucky, but he always makes cool things out of chicken brooder tops.

Yeah! The gazebo has a top! As I was holding a piece of plywood up to keep the wind off of Craig while he welded, I could vision a shelf on the back. So away we went to look for some brackets!

I knew I better get these welded on right here and now, cause when that welder went back in the shop I would never get him to add the shelf!

Found some!

Now we need a piece of barn wood!

YES! Found it! Love it!

Oh yes, we definitely need a rug!

Just so happens I bought one with the structure!

Yes, it's metal to!
I will be sealing for floor after it gets a little more rust on it!

Lets add a couple chairs.

Some more junk, oh I mean art!

Some pitiful flowers! Sorry that's all I had!

Got lots of junk, but not much in the way of flowers! Yet!

And there you have it! I'm gonna add some burlap panels in each corner, but I didn't have any! I will be tweaking things as I go along. Most of the time when I look at something for a couple of days, good thoughts come to me about what would make that space better!

Treasure Chest for Oliver

Amanda, my oldest daughter has another baby shower on Saturday

from the in-laws side of the family.

I've already gifted her from our shower,

but I didn't want to show up empty handed!

When I got up this morning I walked by this cute little chest setting on the table

and thought I should make Oliver a Treasure Chest!

So I did!

I went on the hunt in my studio for a Captains treasures!

I had a ball looking for old things that would be worthy of the chest!

As you can see the hunt turned up some cute teeny tiny treasures!

Ok! I know!

The map looks a little cheesy,

but I free handed it and I'm not an artist!

Oliver will actually live closer to his NaNa than me,

as you can plainly see on the map!

I cut some cheap gold coins off an old bracelet!

The small metal container was used to hold watch repair parts,

it's the size of a quarter!

This old turtle is from the 1920's,
it's a prize you could win at country fairs.

It has 4 little wheels on the bottom.

This little almanac is the size of 2 postage stamps!

It is a real almanac from 1884,

even has advertisements on the back!

A pirate can't navigate with a compass!

I choose a huge key,

cause grandma has a huge heart!

Gotta have a teeny gold candelabra!

And a newborn needs plenty of time in a bottle!

Old metal whistle might ease a little one's mind if he becomes afraid!

Inside the lid of the box.

The box has a tiny drawer at the bottom,

pull the drawer out and there is a hidden compartment!

Perfect for little pirates to hide their gold!

I'm gonna hide a $50 bill in there!

I worked all day on this treasure chest

and I had a blast!

Can you see that great crackle on top of the box?

I hope Oliver loves his treasure chest and will cherish it always!

I can just see his little hands playing with these treasures

and thinking about some far away adventure!

Seed Box in Texas

By the time I get to Texas Brian and Meloney of The Seed Box are usually sold out and I don't ever get to take any good photos of her booth! This spring she and a friend set up a second booth in Warrenton and I got there before every thing was gone! Meloney does the best displays! And her floral arrangements are awesome! She never fails to give me inspiration cause she always uses burlap, metal and some rusty things in all her vignettes! Can't wait till the fall show to she what she has up her sleeve next!

Spring Cleaning, Stocking and Rearranging!

I spent the better part of this week stocking, cleaning and rearranging my booth!

It was in terrible need of attention!

We had a few pieces of furniture in the building that needed to be painted and moved out of the way.

So I took the opportunity make space in the building and fill my booth at the same time!

I don't usually paint furniture because I like the older paint much better,

but these pieces had piled up and were taking up valuable space!

I think things turned out pretty well.

I love my booth at Bennies Barn,

I have tons of room and it has so much character!

If you've never been to Bennies Barn it would be worth your while to make the trip!

Mall owner called today and said this chalk board already sold.

She said someone bought it for a wedding!

Yeah!

Breakfast At Rachel Ashwells B & B

While in Texas I told you guys I got to take a tour of Rachel Ashwells B & B. It was rainy and cloudy that day, but everything was just lovely!

This is a bunkhouse, slash where you take you meals, slash all around guest hangout! Let me tell you, I would be happy to hang out there for a few hours. The interior is so laid back and comfy looking, but after all that's what Rachel is all about! With out further to do, sit back and enjoy the tour.

Hide That Black Box

Please excuse the fact I don't have any floors or baseboards installed yet! I'm am still in the purging mood and have gotten rid of tons of smalls and large furniture. I've moved several things around and created a new place for the TV to rest! I'm lucky enough to have a WHITE flat screen TV, but I still have that ugly black cable box! My solution for trying to hide it, is some large black leather bond books. I think it works pretty good, what do you think?

Great Brimfield Show

Happy to report we had a great show in Brimfield! We sold 85% of our load! Yeah! I want to thank all our loyal customers who came out to support us, without you guys we wouldn't be able to stay in business! We did have some famous names come through and buy, JCrew and Tommy Hilfiger! I also sold to a designer in Ireland! It is so exciting when big names come through and make a purchase!

It was a real pleasure seeing all our friends! We had an all around great time while we were there!

Hope you enjoy the booth pictures! We only have two days to set in Brimfield, verses 4 days in Texas, so my display are put together really fast! And we don't take the time to put up any walls!

Thankfully We Escaped

I went to church last night and while in church I had my phone on silent. When church was over and I got in the car the first thing I did was check my phone. I had several missed calls and a bone chilling text from Craig that said a TORNADO just passed over the top of our house! I immediately started to shake in my shoes! I called Craig and was terrified of what he would have to report!

He watched the tornado come across the field where these building were destroyed. It is our county fair grounds. It was a large wedge tornado. He watched from the front porch until the wind was so great he had to go inside. He said the tornado was on a straight path for our house. He gathered the dogs and they went to the bathroom. He said he never heard a noise like this in his life, he said it was like a train on top of the house. While in the bathroom he said the whole house shook, vibrated and made loud cracking noises. He said he expected the house to lift off the ground at any second! But it held strong!

Just a few hundred yards from our house the TORNADO lifted off the ground and passed right above our roof! As Craig went outside he said he expected the roof to be completely gone, but it was still there! God was defiantly watching over us! We had a few minor things damaged, but nothing we can't fix ourselves!

These photos are of the fair grounds right across the road from us.

This is the house at the end of our street.

It blew our RV off the blocks and turned it about 3ft.

Thought this was odd! Lifted this glass out of the table and gently placed it on the floor of the deck without breaking it! Most of the damage was under the porch.

Rachel Ashwells B&B Ranch

While we were in Texas my friend Theresa Cano got invited to tour Rachel Ashwells B&B. She could bring 2 guest and I was lucky enough to get chosen for the tour!

The place is breath taking! My pictures don't even do it justice! It was rainy the day we were there and I can only imagine how lovely the place must look when the sun in shining!

Rachel and her assistant was our tour guides!

I've only shown the main house in this post! Guest cottages will come later! It was hard to take whole room pictures of the house because Rachel and her staff were staying there during the big show. So.......all of their belongs invaded most of the space!
